Licensed TIG Welder with 6G Tickets

Our client, a leading custom steel fabrication manufacturer, in the Woodstock area, is recruiting for a licensed TIG Welder with 6G tickets. This is an excellent prospect to join a recognized and reputable company.

Reporting to the Production Manager, this position would be responsible join metal pipes and tubes using Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) in a fixed 45-degree angle position, requiring high precision to pass X-ray or ultrasonic testing. Key duties include reading blueprints, preparing joints, and passing pressure-vessel code tests. Maintain company standards in the areas of housekeeping, attendance and teamwork.

Core Responsibilities

- Operate Equipment: Set up and run TIG welding machines, adjust shielding gas flow rates, and manage heat input.
- Execute 6G Welds: Perform root, hot, fill, and cap passes on fixed pipes tilted at a 45-degree angle.
- Read Blueprints: Interpret isometric drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and symbols.
- Quality Control: Ensure all welds meet X-ray, magnetic particle (MPI), or dye penetrant (DPI) inspection standards.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills, attributes and experience:

- Valid 6G Ticket: Current pressure-welding certification or coding (such as ASME Section IX, AWS, or CWB). Those with expired tickets will also be consider
- Experience: 3+ years of professional pipe or vessel TIG welding experience.
- Material Knowledge: Ability to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, and various exotic alloys.
- Safety & Physical: Follow strict industrial safety rules and work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Straight days - Monday to Thursday 6:30 am to 3:30 pm and Friday's 6:30am to 12:30 pm with optional overtime
- Positive attitude and willingness to work!

Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour

Experience:

- professional pipe/vessel TIG welding: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
