Overview

Join the Paranis team as a Carpenter and become part of a company dedicated to delivering high-quality construction and restoration projects across the Ottawa area. As a Carpenter, you will play an essential role in completing residential, commercial, and multi-residential projects with a focus on quality craftsmanship, safety, and professionalism. You will work alongside experienced project teams to deliver work that meets or exceeds client expectations while contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform rough and finish carpentry for residential, commercial, and restoration projects.
- Install framing, doors, windows, trim, siding, cabinetry, and other finish materials.
- Read and interpret drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other construction materials with precision.
- Complete repairs and renovations while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and efficiently.
- Coordinate daily tasks with the Foreman and Project Manager to meet project schedules.
- Identify and communicate site issues or deficiencies that may impact quality or timelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work area in accordance with company safety policies.
- Mentor and assist apprentices and labourers when required.




- Ensure all work complies with applicable building codes and company quality standards.

Experience

- Minimum 3 years of carpentry experience in residential, commercial, or restoration construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, and safe work practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and common carpentry equipment.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Ottawa region.
- Valid G Class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- WHMIS and Working at Heights certifications are required (or willingness to obtain before starting).
- Additional certifications such as First Aid, Elevated Work Platform (EWP), or Forklift are considered assets.

Accountability

- The Carpenter is accountable to the Foreman, Operations Manager, and Project Manager for completing assigned work safely, efficiently, and to Paranis' quality standards while contributing to the successful delivery of each project.

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
