Avery HR is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Forklift Operator/Order Picking to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and preparing products for shipment, utilizing various warehouse equipment, and ensuring efficient order fulfillment. This role requires familiarity with warehouse distribution processes, forklift operation and warehouse management systems. The successful candidate will contribute to smooth warehouse operations by maintaining safety standards and supporting shipping and receiving functions.
Location: Vaughan(Steeles & Weston area)
Pay: from $22.00 per hour; premium for nights
Hours: 11:00am to 8:00pm; alternate Saturdays 6:00am to 3:00pm
LICENSES FOR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING FORKLIFTS IS MANDATORY:
- Reach truck
- Counterbalance
- Order/Cherry Picker with fall arrest certification
Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick and assemble orders using warehouse management system (WMS)
- Operate forklifts - Counterbalance, Raymond Reach & Order Picker w/ fall arrest
- Load and unload products from trucks
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and update records in the database
- Assist with shipping & receiving tasks, including labeling, packaging, and documentation
- Conduct inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily order fulfillment goals and deadlines
Requirements
- Minimum three years experience as a forklift operator in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, etc.
- Valid licenses for Counterbalance, Raymond Reach & Order Picker w/ fall arrest
- Mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation, clamp trucks, or other machinery is highly desirable
- Proven experience with order picking and warehouse management systems (WMS)
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with load & unload procedures in a fast-paced environment
- Robust attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Must be able to work alternate Saturdays.
Candidates must successfully complete a forklift test prior to being considered.
