Responsibilities
- Prepare metal parts and surfaces for coating by cleaning, sanding, or masking as needed to ensure optimal adhesion.
- Operate powder coating equipment, including spray booths, curing ovens, and application guns, following safety protocols.
- Load and unload parts using cranes or forklifts safely and efficiently to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Inspect finished products for quality, consistency, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency throughout the coating process.
- Assist with assembly or machining tasks when required to support production goals.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to minimize waste and optimize coating operations.
Requirements
- Basic mechanical knowledge with experience handling hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to operate cranes and forklifts safely; certification preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in manufacturing or surface finishing environments is a plus.
- Familiarity with welding, machining, or assembly processes is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with good hand-eye coordination for precise coating application.
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating coating quantities or part dimensions.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to support continuous improvement initiatives.
