We are seeking an organized and proactive Health & Safety / Human Resources Coordinator to support our daily operations, ensure compliance with workplace regulations, and assist with all aspects of employee relations.
Key Responsibilities Health & Safety
- Develop, implement, and maintain workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with Ontario health and safety legislation and company policies.
- Conduct workplace inspections and safety audits.
- Coordinate employee safety training and orientations.
- Investigate workplace incidents and maintain accurate documentation.
- Manage WSIB claims, return-to-work programs, and corrective action plans.
- Maintain health and safety records and ensure all certifications remain current.
Human Resources
- Coordinate recruitment, interviews, and onboarding of new employees.
- Maintain employee files and HR documentation.
- Assist with performance management and employee relations.
- Administer company policies and HR procedures.
- Support payroll administration by maintaining attendance and timesheet records.
- Coordinate employee training and professional development.
- Assist with benefits administration and HR compliance.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Occupational Health & Safety, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in Human Resources, Health & Safety, or a similar role.
- Knowledge of the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA), Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), and WSIB requirements.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
