Early Childhood Educator (ECE) – Preschool Lead Teacher (4–5 Years)

Stars for Life Childcare is looking for an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator to lead our Preschool classroom (ages 4–5).

We're seeking an educator who loves working with older preschool children and is excited to create engaging learning experiences that foster confidence, independence, curiosity, and school readiness. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys leading a classroom, mentoring children through their final preschool year, and preparing them for a successful transition to kindergarten.

Responsibilities

- Lead the daily operation of our Preschool classroom (ages 4–5).
- Plan and implement engaging, play-based learning experiences aligned with the BC Early Learning Framework.
- Support children's literacy, early numeracy, communication, social-emotional development, and kindergarten readiness.
- Create a welcoming, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Observe and document children's learning and development.
- Build solid, positive relationships with children and families.
- Collaborate with fellow educators and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning workplace.
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations and Stars for Life policies and procedures.

Qualifications

- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate.
- Minimum 3 years of experience leading a preschool classroom.
- Experience working with children aged 4–5 years.
- Robust understanding of early literacy, school readiness, and child development.
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively while confidently leading a classroom.
- Current First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before employment).
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Position Details

- Position: Full-Time
- Location: West Vancouver
- Schedule: Monday to Friday
- Compensation: $23-$27 Competitive, based on qualifications and experience
- Additional BC ECE Wage Enhancement: Eligible ECEs receive the provincial ECE Wage Enhancement on top of pay compensation.
