The Drafter/Detailer – Industrial Piping plays a critical role in supporting Jewel’s shop and field operations by producing accurate, code-compliant piping drawings and fabrication packages that enable safe, efficient project execution.

Compensation
- $62,400–$93,600 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- A bonus structure may be offered based on performance
What You’ll Do
- Create detailed spool sheets and shop drawings for industrial piping systems
- Detail pipe spools including dimensions, weld types, weld numbers, fittings, flanges, valves, and supports
- Interpret P&IDs;, piping plans, specifications, and engineering design documents
- Generate bills of material (BOMs), cut lists, and material take-offs for fabrication
- Apply applicable piping codes and standards (ASME, ANSI, AWS, etc.) to drawings
- Coordinate with engineering and project teams to resolve design conflicts and constructability issues
- Revise drawings based on RFIs, field changes, and redlines
- Maintain drawing revisions and document control
- Provide drawing clarification and technical support to fabrication shop and field crews as needed
- Contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards,
templates, and workflows
What You Bring
- Associate degree in Drafting Technology or a related technical discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience
- 2–3 years of experience detailing industrial piping systems
- Experience producing spool drawings for fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs; and piping layouts
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D/3D), or equivalent software
- Strong understanding of weld symbols, piping components, coatings, and structural detailing
- Familiarity with carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy piping materials
- Knowledge of ASME B31 piping codes (B31.1, B31.3, etc.)
- Strong organization, time management, and communication skills
- A collaborative attitude and ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, shop personnel, and field crews
