We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Director of Operations to lead large-format print manufacturing, signage production, project management, procurement, installation logistics, quality assurance, inventory management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Reporting directly to the President, this senior leadership role will oversee daily operations, departmental performance, production efficiency, budgets, staffing, supplier relationships, workplace safety, and customer project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for improving operational efficiency, profitability, quality, production capacity, and on-time delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead production, finishing, project management, installation, logistics, procurement, customer service, and facility operations.
- Establish operational goals, workflows, KPIs, performance standards, and accountability measures.
- Oversee large-format printing, CNC routing and cutting, laminating, finishing, fabrication, and assembly.
- Manage operational budgets, labour planning, production costs, margins, overtime, waste, and capacity.
- Ensure customer projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
- Manage suppliers, subcontractors, inventory levels, purchasing, and supply-chain risks.
- Implement quality-control standards, standard operating procedures, lean manufacturing practices, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop operational managers and production teams.
- Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.
Qualifications
- 8–10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience.
- At least 5 years of senior management experience overseeing manufacturing, production, or operational teams.
- Experience in large-format printing, signage, visual communications, commercial printing, display manufacturing, architectural graphics, or custom fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of printing technologies, production workflows, finishing processes, installation logistics, project management, costing, budgeting, and manufacturing economics.
- Experience with ERP, MIS, CRM, and production-management systems.
- Robust understanding of operational KPIs, forecasting, reporting, and capacity planning.
- Excellent leadership, strategic planning, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, PMP, or a similar certification is considered an asset.
Pay: $100,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
