OVERVIEW:

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the trainer is responsible for designing, delivering and evaluating training programs that assist employees develop the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to perform effectively while aligning with organizational goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars for employees and caregivers.

- Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, and performance evaluations.

- Develop, update, and customize training materials, manuals, presentations, and learning activities.

- Prepare lesson plans and training schedules.

- Evaluate participants' learning through quizzes, and practical exercises.

- Monitor trainee progress and provide coaching, mentoring, and constructive feedback.

- Identify training needs for new and existing employees.

- Identify knowledge and skill gaps and recommend additional learning opportunities.

- Maintain accurate training records, attendance, and certification documentation.





- Ensure training programs comply with organizational policies and safety standards.

- Support employee onboarding and orientation programs.

- Collaborate with supervisors and executive management to develop relevant training content.

- Measure training effectiveness using feedback, performance metrics, and post-training evaluations.

- Continuously improve training materials and delivery methods based on participant feedback.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Certifications in training and development.
- 1-3 years training experience.
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Coaching and mentoring abilities.
- Public speaking and audience engagement.
- Time management and organization.
- Problem-solving and adaptability.
- Evaluation and reporting skills.
- Required to work flexible hours and ability to travel as required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high attention to detail.
- Must provide explicit criminal records check, adult and child abuse checks.
- Demonstrate knowledge and/or understanding of Indigenous perspectives, First Nations culture and traditional philosophies.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, MS Word, Spreadsheets (Excel), PowerPoint, E-mail (Outlook) and Internet.
