Potentials Canada Learning Centre is a growing tutoring company based in Vernon, BC, dedicated to helping students of all abilities reach their full potential. We provide personalized academic support in a caring, structured workplace — and we're looking for an exceptional Lead Tutor to join our team and help shape the quality of learning we deliver.
The Role
As Lead Tutor, you will be the cornerstone of our academic team — delivering high-quality tutoring sessions, mentoring and supporting fellow tutors, and helping ensure every student receives a consistent, effective learning experience. This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, personalized tutoring sessions across multiple subject areas
- Mentor and support other tutors on the team, maintaining consistent teaching standards
- Assist with onboarding and training of new tutors
- Track and report student progress after each session
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student development
- Contribute to curriculum resources and shared learning materials
- Support students with diverse learning needs using appropriate strategies
- Respond to student or family concerns with care and professionalism
Required:
- Post-secondary education in Education, a relevant subject area, or equivalent
experience
- Demonstrated experience tutoring or teaching students of varying ages and abilities
- Strong subject knowledge across Math, English/Writing, Science, and/or
French/Languages
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs
Valid First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start date)
- Clear Criminal Record Check (CRC) with Vulnerable Sector screening required for
working with children and youth.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, organized, and self-motivated
Assets:
- Experience leading or mentoring a team
- Background in special education or learning diversity training
- Familiarity with BC curriculum
- Bilingual in French and English
