Humphreys Funeral Home is seeking a compassionate and dependable Casual On-Call Mortuary Hairstylist to assist our team in providing respectful and dignified care to the deceased entrusted to our care.

This unique role involves providing hairstyling services for deceased individuals as part of their preparation for visitation and funeral services. We understand how meaningful appearance can be to a grieving family, and we are looking for someone who will approach this work with kindness, professionalism, attention to detail, and respect.

Responsibilities

- Provide hairstyling services for deceased individuals in preparation for visitation and funeral services
- Style hair according to family wishes, photographs, or instructions provided by funeral home staff
- Work closely and respectfully with funeral directors and members of our care team
- Maintain a high level of professionalism, discretion, cleanliness, and confidentiality
- Be available on a casual, on-call basis as needs arise

Qualifications

- Previous hairdressing or hairstyling experience is required (Do not have to have an active license, cosmetology students will be considered )
- Ability to work comfortably and respectfully in a funeral home setting
- Compassionate, patient,



and professional manner
- Strong attention to detail
- Reliable transportation and the ability to respond to occasional on-call requests
- Ability to work independently while following the direction of funeral home staff

***Previous experience working in a funeral home is not required. Our team will provide guidance regarding the unique aspects of working within a mortuary setting.

About the Position

This is a casual, on-call position with no guaranteed number of hours. Services would be scheduled as required, with as much advance notice as circumstances allow. Compensation is $50.00/Per client payable by cheque at the completion of the assignment. Hair will be prewashed, conditioned and dried before stylist is scheduled, our previous stylist took approx.. 30 Minutes - 1 Hour to complete.

This position may be an excellent fit for an experienced hairstylist looking for occasional additional work while using their skills to make a meaningful difference for families during an important and emotional time.
