Job Title: Home Automation & Network Systems Technician
Job Type: Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking an ambitious, tech-savvy Lead Home Automation & Network Systems Technician to design, deploy, and support high-end smart home ecosystems. In this role, you will serve as the primary integrator for premium Control4, RTI, and URC automation environments while building rock-solid enterprise-grade network foundations to power them.

Key Responsibilities
- Smart Home Architecture: Program, configure, and deploy advanced Control4, RTI, and URC systems for high-end residential and commercial projects.
- Network Infrastructure: Design, configure, and optimize local networks (VLANs, managed switches, routers, access points, and IP assignment) to ensure zero-latency performance for connected hardware.
- Subsystem Integration: Interfacing automated lighting (e.g., Lutron), multi-room audio/video, climate control, shades, and motorized systems into central control platforms.
- Security & Access Integration: Connect and configure DSC alarm hardware, smart access control, and IP surveillance cameras into the broader home automation ecosystem.
- System Diagnostics: Perform advanced network troubleshooting, IP conflicts resolution, firmware updates, and remote automation diagnostics.
- Client Experience: Guide clients through system handoffs, personalized scene creation, and basic user training with a professional, customer-first approach.
Qualifications
- Control4 Integration: Direct hands-on experience setting up, programming,
and troubleshooting Control4 environments (RTI/URC experience is a major plus).
- Networking Expertise: Strong background in networking fundamentals—DHCP reservation, VLAN segmentation, port forwarding, wireless heatmapping, and managed switches.
- Low-Voltage Systems: Mastery of low-voltage wiring, audio/video signal flow, serial/relay logic, and clean rack termination.
- Security & Alarm Hardware: Familiarity with basic alarm systems, IP cameras, and basic access control hardware.
- Problem-Solving: Exceptional technical diagnostic skills with a structured approach to isolating complex system glitches.
- Requirements: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and physical ability to lift equipment (50+ lbs), work on ladders, and navigate tight spaces.
Preferred Certifications & Skills
- Automation: Hands on knowledge and experience in Control4, URC, RTI, and Lutron.
- Networking Credentials: A history of dealing with various network types like Ubiquiti, AltaLabs, Etc.
- A/V Foundations: Working knowledge of Audio/Video systems for both home and business
