Who You Are
- Self Starter. You are comfortable owning a task from start to finish and you take the initiative to make continuous process improvements. You observe strict deadlines and hold yourself accountable for your deliverables.
- Detail-Oriented & Organized. You have a keen eye for accuracy, keep your working papers clean and well-documented, and manage competing priorities without letting anything slip through the cracks.
- Effective Communicator. Your verbal and written communication skills allow you to get results across easily and quickly, in a friendly and professional manner — whether you're working with vendors, teammates, or leadership.
- Adaptable & Eager to Learn. You thrive in a changing environment, pivot direction easily, and actively seek out opportunities to grow your skills and knowledge.
What You'll Be Doing
- Accounts Payable Management: Manage our accounts payable processes end to end, including weekly payments to vendors, reconciling vendor accounts to statements, and preparing monthly accruals and vendor remittances.
- Month-End Close: Own key month-end close procedures using full-cycle accounting, maintaining working papers and performing monthly accounting for fixed assets, accruals, inventory, payroll, and other expense accounts.
- Cash Flow Forecasting: Participate in the preparation of weekly cash flow information to support the weekly cash flow forecasting process, in coordination with FP&A.;
- Vendor Relations: Communicate with vendors on account matters and maintain appropriate payment terms within our accounts payable process.
- Payroll Support: Occasionally process driver payroll, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Prepare monthly reconciliations for bank, credit card, and other balance sheet accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Financial Reporting: Assist the Controller in preparing monthly financial statements and supporting schedules,
including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
- Audit & Year-End Support: Support the year-end audit with external auditors, preparing working paper schedules and responses to external auditor requests.
- Compliance & Remittances: Assist with the preparation and filing of GST/PST/QST and other government remittances, ensuring deadlines and requirements are consistently met.
What We Are Looking For:
Reporting to the Controller, you are a hands-on accounting professional who takes pride in accurate, timely work. You own the details of the close, keep vendors and internal partners informed, and flag issues early with practical solutions. You are curious about how the business works, continuously look for ways to improve accounting processes, and are comfortable balancing multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- You communicate with clarity and care. Your writing is crisp, your conversations land, and you know how to read the room. You listen as well as you speak.
- You sweat the details — in a good way. Your reconciliations tie out, your working papers tell the story, and small discrepancies don't get past you.
- You stay organized under pressure. You map out the close, sequence the work, and keep the moving pieces on track so deadlines actually get met.
- You own your work. You do what you say you'll do, you follow through, and people know they can count on you.
- You solve problems with sound judgment. When something doesn't reconcile or a process breaks down, you dig in, weigh the trade-offs, and exercise good judgment — even when the picture is incomplete or the clock is ticking.
- You're AI-forward. You spot where processes snag and have experience and capability using AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to streamline accounting processes and simplify and reduce manual work. You're comfortable learning new technologies as they emerge.
- You partner across the business. You build trust-based relationships with vendors, FP&A;, Operations, and other teams, translating accounting into language everyone understands.
- You're always learning. You stay current on accounting standards and tools, ask good questions, and treat every close as a chance to get better.
Requirements:
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with hands-on full-cycle accounting experience required.
- Formal accounting training, such as a post-secondary degree in Accounting or a related discipline.
A CPA designation is preferred, or active pursuit of the CPA designation is considered a strong asset.
- Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word) as well as Google Sheets and Google Docs.
- Experience with QuickBooks Online is an asset, as is experience with other similar enterprise or cloud-based accounting software.
- Solid analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain trust-based relationships with vendors and cross-functional internal stakeholders.
- English is required as this role will support our team and suppliers across Canada. French fluency is considered a solid asset.
What You Can Expect

- Competitive salary that recognizes your skills and experience
- An energetic, inclusive workplace where your voice matters and your contributions drive real impact
