Salary: $67,501.20/yr ($43.27/hr) - (Based on a 30-hour work week)

Snax 4 Schools is a Canadian student nutrition partner dedicated to supporting school-based Student Nutrition Programs (SNPs) by providing healthy, affordable, and compliant snack solutions to schools and community organizations across Ontario. The company works closely with schools, public health units, food suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure snack programs meet PPM 150 and Student Nutrition Program guidelines, while remaining accessible, inclusive, and operationally efficient. Snax 4 Schools is seeking a Program Officer – Child Nutrition and Food Security Initiatives to support the growth, expansion, and operational effectiveness of its school nutrition programs. This role is a hands-on, cross-functional position that combines partnership support, operational coordination, and program development. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to strengthen existing relationships, and support the delivery of compliant, high-quality nutrition solutions to schools.

As a Program Officer – Child Nutrition and Food Security Initiatives, your responsibilities include:

- Design, implement,



and oversee school nutrition and food security programs in collaboration with multiple school boards, public health agencies, and non-profit organizations.
- Administer operational plans and program budgets to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of nutrition services.
- Oversee procurement coordination, vendor management, and food distribution logistics to ensure timely delivery to schools and community sites.
- Ensure all program activities and menus comply with Public Health and Student Nutrition Ontario guidelines, maintaining high standards of nutritional quality and safety.
- Liaise with schools, food suppliers, community agencies, and regional lead partners to strengthen collaboration and ensure program consistency across jurisdictions.
- Develop and implement evaluation tools, including surveys and stakeholder feedback mechanisms, to assess program effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare comprehensive reports, data summaries, and recommendations to guide program planning, funding proposals, and organizational decision-making.
- Represent Snax 4 Schools Inc. at conferences, workshops, and regional meetings, promoting organizational objectives and advancing collective efforts to improve child nutrition and food security.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

- A bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Psychology, Community Development, or another related discipline.
- A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in program coordination, community development, child nutrition initiatives, public health programming, food security programs, or related social policy or community-based services.
- At least two (2) years of demonstrated experience coordinating school nutrition programs, community food initiatives,



or similar programs involving collaboration with schools, public sector organizations, community agencies, or non-profit organizations.
- At least two (2) years of experience supporting program implementation, operational planning, procurement coordination, vendor or supplier relationships, and service delivery to ensure programs operate efficiently and effectively.
- Knowledge of Ontario Student Nutrition Program standards, Public Health nutrition guidelines, food safety principles, and best practices related to child nutrition and food security.
- At least two (2) years of experience developing, monitoring, or administering operational plans, program activities, budgets, or resource allocation while ensuring efficient use of organizational resources.
- A Food Handler Certificate is considered an asset.
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret program information and stakeholder feedback to prepare reports, summaries, recommendations, and other documentation that supports program planning and continuous improvement.
- Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, community organizations, public health agencies, food suppliers, government stakeholders, and regional partners.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare qualified correspondence, deliver presentations, facilitate meetings, and represent the organization at conferences, workshops, and community engagement events.
- Strong organizational and project coordination abilities with demonstrated capacity to manage multiple priorities, coordinate competing deadlines, and adapt to changing operational requirements.
- Demonstrated analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify program needs, recommend practical solutions, and support evidence-informed decision-making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, as well as Google Workspace applications used for program administration, reporting, and data management.

Pay: $67,501.20 per year
