INFINITEK is partnering with a leading industrial manufacturer in Northern Ontario to recruit a Process Engineer / Technician for a major facility transformation and growth initiative in Kapuskasing.

Following a period of curtailment, the operation has secured substantial federal and local government funding to support the restart and redevelopment of manufacturing operations, including the development of new MDF production capabilities. As investment continues across the site, we are seeking a process-focused engineering professional to support operational excellence, continuous improvement, and manufacturing optimization.

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manufacturing Services Manager, you will provide technical and operational support across manufacturing processes, helping drive improvements in productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance.

You will work closely with production, maintenance, operations, and unionized teams to identify process improvements, solve technical challenges, and implement data-driven solutions that improve plant performance.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions
- Analyze production data and identify opportunities for process optimization
- Monitor manufacturing performance against production, quality, and cost targets
- Support day-to-day operating department activities, troubleshooting, testing, and process analysis
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, reports, and process flow diagrams
- Train operators and technicians on new procedures and best practices
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations
- Provide technical recommendations for process and equipment improvements




- Assist with capital project development and justification activities
- Conduct statistical analysis to support operational and capital investment decisions
- Promote safe work practices and support site health and safety initiatives
- Foster positive working relationships within a unionized manufacturing environment

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, pulp & paper, forestry products, chemicals, mining, or other industrial environments
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Experience using data to drive operational improvements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies is considered an asset
- Membership with a Canadian Professional Engineers Association (or eligibility) is an asset
- French language skills are considered an asset

Compensation & Schedule:

- Salary: $70,000 - $105,000 annually
- Monday-Friday day shift schedule
