Weekend Journeyman Industrial Electrician

Sofina Foods Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Journeyman Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment to support safe, productive, and reliable plant operations.

This is a full-time, unionized weekend position working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The successful candidate will perform preventative and corrective maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and work closely with Maintenance and Production teams to minimize downtime. A strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and teamwork is essential. Additional overtime may be required based on operational needs.

Duties

- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain plant electrical equipment and systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues to minimize equipment downtime.
- Install, test, program, and configure electrical and electronic equipment.
- Complete maintenance work orders and required documentation accurately.
- Work safely in accordance with company policies, electrical codes, HACCP requirements, and all applicable regulations.




- Collaborate with Maintenance and Production teams to support daily operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

- Valid Manitoba Journeyman Industrial Electrician (Red Seal) Certification.
- Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with conventional motor controls, AC drives, VFDs, PLCs, and ladder logic programming is considered an asset.
- Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a refrigerated manufacturing environment.
- Ability to climb ladders, crouch, bend, kneel, reach overhead, and perform physically demanding work.
- Knowledge of HACCP requirements is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and quality workmanship.
