Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled SolidWorks Technician for an immediate-start, short-term contract to support our production team during a peak build period. Compensation ranges from CA30.00 to CA46.00 per hour, directly aligned with your depth of millwork experience, CNC nesting efficiency, and ability to work completely autonomously from day one.

Your primary focus will be generating precise production drawings in SolidWorks for CNC millwork nesting and preparing ready-to-cut production files. You will work closely with our shop team to ensure proper fitment for all custom van interior components. If you are proficient in SolidWorks and ready to hit the ground running, we want to hear from you ASAP.

Key Responsibilities

- Create detailed 3D models and 2D production drawings in SolidWorks for custom cabinetry, cabinetry components, and interior millwork.
- Prepare clean vector and DXF files for CNC millwork nesting and shop fabrication.




- Collaborate directly with the production team on the shop floor to ensure accurate fitment and assembly feasibility.
- Revise and update production files rapidly based on shop feedback and project deadlines.
- Maintain organized CAD drawing files, toolpaths, and revision history.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Software: Proven expertise in SolidWorks (3D modeling, drafting, and production file preparation).
- Experience: Background in millwork, custom cabinetry, or woodworking CNC production setup (rates toward the higher end of the scale require senior-level mastery in automated nesting and complex joinery setup).
- Technical Skills: Solid understanding of CNC nesting, cut lists, joinery details, and manufacturing tolerances.
- Work Ethic: High attention to detail, excellent spatial awareness, and the ability to hit tight deadlines independently.
- Communication: Clear verbal and written English communication to liaise effectively with builders and craftspeople.
