This position is responsible for overseeing and performing all tasks required to fully construct concrete foundations and create access roads and perimetre fencing for cellular tower sites.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities Include:
1. Layout: use blueprints and surveys to determine where to place foundation
2. Excavation; operating excavators, packers, and bulldozers
3. Tie rebar
4. Pour concrete
5. Compact backfill
6. Concrete finishing
7. Rock drilling, lay out holes, install rebar and grout
8. Pretension rock bolts and grout
9. Install fencing, both permanent and temporary
10. Install entry gates
11. Create access roads; remove topsoil and add gravel
12. Ensure proper inspections for personal safety for self and crew
13. any other duties that may be assigned
Education (Theoretical Training):
1. High school preferred
2. 2 years experience preferred
3. First Aid / CPR
4. Ladder Safety Training
5. WHMIS
6. Electrical Awareness Training
7. Transportation of Dangerous Goods Training
8. Proper Lifting Techniques Training
9. Occupational Health and Safety for Supervisors and Managers
Job Requirements & Experience:
1. Read and interpret blueprints and engineered drawings
2. Experience with telecom tower foundations is an asset
3. Basic knowledge of the operation and safety requirements of power tools
4. Experience in operating excavators, packers, and bulldozers an asset
5. Practical ability and common sense
6. May be required to travel and work weekends, nights if required by customer
7. Manual dexterity is required and mechanical aptitude an asset
8.
Have a basic understanding of electricity and electrical safety
9. Valid driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract preferred
10. Must be a team player and have a positive and professional attitude towards work and others
11. Must possess effective supervisory skills and competently direct co-workers
12. Fluent in English written and oral
