Scope:

Founded in 1998, SYTEC Manufacturing Ltd. is a privately held Alberta Corporation. We are well versed in advanced metal product design & sheet metal manufacturing across a wide range of industries spanning telecommunications, electrical grid/power distribution, oil and gas, solar, agricultural and many more. We encourage internal and external collaboration to drive continuous improvements.

This role will cover all aspects of welding (TIG, MIG, LASER) to stainless steel, steel, aluminum (sheet metal). You will work with our Welding Lead and other team members to complete the welding process to Sytec’s quality standard.

Responsibilities:

- Complete the appropriate paperwork, forms, and reports.
- Complete work orders and ensure any parts and consumables used are documented.
- Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
- Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), resistance welding, submerged arc welding (SAW), and LASER welding.
- Weld different types of metal in vertical up, overhead, gouging, and hard facing positions.
- Structural assembly.




- Operate manual or semi-automatic lame-cutting equipment, brazing equipment, and soldering equipment.
- Use any hand tools that may be required for tasks.
- Offer new ways or processes to complete the jobs in a more efficient manner.
- Provide high quality service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work in the absence of direct supervision.
- Assist in maintenance or parts replacement, as needed.
- Follow rules, regulations and company Health and Safety policies.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High school or equivalent education.
- Minimum 3 years’ welding experience, ideally in a similar manufacturing setting.
- Journeyperson Welder Certificate preferred for both Full-Time and Part-Time positions.
- Dependability and reliability. Show up for every shift.

Working Conditions:

- Full-Time: 10-hour shifts (2:30 pm – 1:00 am), 40 hours work week, Monday to Thursday.
- Part-Time: Shift starts at 4:30 pm or later. Flexible start and finish times.
- Appropriate PPE required for the tasks assigned.
- Pre-approved additional hours may be required to accommodate customer demands.
- Quick-paced environment.
- Work under pressure.
- Standing, walking, bending for long periods of time.

Pay: $33.50-$34.00 per hour
