The Opportunity
Harbour City Kitchens is looking for a friendly, outgoing, and motivated Receptionist to join our team.
As the first point of contact for many of our customers, you will create a welcoming showroom experience, learn about their projects, and help connect them with the appropriate member of our sales and design team. You will also support lead follow-up, consultation scheduling, customer communications, product samples, and general showroom administration.This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong customer service skills who is interested in developing a career in sales, interior design, cabinetry, or the home-improvement industry. The successful candidate will be proactive, organized, comfortable speaking with new people, and eager to build their product and sales knowledge.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience and Showroom Sales
- Welcome and assist all showroom visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Ask introductory questions to understand each customer’s project, needs, timing, and next steps.
- Capture accurate customer and project information for the sales and design team.
- Schedule consultations and connect prospective customers with the appropriate team member.
- Answer general questions about Harbour City Kitchens, our products, and our customer process.
- Learn about our cabinetry, finishes, hardware, design options, and manufacturing capabilities.
- Follow up with prospective customers by phone or email as assigned.
- Assist with showroom promotions, customer events, and other sales-development activities.
- Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and customer-ready showroom.
Sales and Administrative Support
- Provide administrative support to the Sales Manager, designers, and sales team.
- Enter and update customer information, leads, appointments, and project notes in company systems.
- Prepare product samples, brochures, and introductory materials for customers and sales representatives.
- Scan and organize sales and project documentation.
- Assist with customer correspondence and appointment confirmations.
- Accurately process sales-related documentation, payments, or deposits, where applicable.
- Maintain accurate and confidential customer records.
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls and general inquiries.
Showroom and Office Coordination
- Maintain and organize the showroom sample inventory.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, couriers, and packages.
- Order office, showroom, and shop supplies.
- Help keep the reception area, showroom, coffee bar, and shared staff spaces clean, stocked, and presentable.
- Coordinate the monthly employee appreciation lunch.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Friendly, confident, and professional communication style.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational, time-management, and follow-through skills.
- Proactive approach and willingness to take initiative.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy showroom environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability to handle confidential customer and company information appropriately.
- Interest in learning about sales, cabinetry, renovation, or interior design.
Preferred
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, reception, or sales.
- Experience working in a showroom or customer-facing office environment.
- Familiarity with CRM, scheduling, or customer-management software.
- Interest in interior design, home renovation, kitchens, or current design trends.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
