Position:
We are seeking a Senior Accountant. This is a fixed term (contract to cover maternity leave of 12-15 months with potential for extension), full-time position based out of our Richmond, BC head office.

Responsibilities:
The Senior Accountant will report to the Controller and is responsible for maintaining the general ledger and providing support to the Finance team as needed. The successful candidate will:
- Perform month-end duties which include preparing monthly journal entries (accruals and adjusting entries) and balance sheet account reconciliations
- Reconcile bank accounts monthly
- Complete government filing requirements such as GST and PST returns
- Manage accounts receivable aging, invoicing, cash receipts and other accounts receivable related tasks
- Ensures accounts payable invoices and expense claims are accurate,
properly coded and authorized for payment.
- Prepare payroll on a bi-weekly basis including managing employee expense reports and ROE processing, and compliance with payroll remittances including WorkSafe BC reporting
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including intercompany, consolidations and elimination entries
- Assist the Controller with the year-end review engagement
- Provide general support to the Controller and prepare various ad-hoc reports and duties in a timely and accurate manner
Qualifications:
- CPA designation is preferred, however not required with appropriate experience
- 3 - 5 years of experience of full cycle accounting
- Strong accounting and analytical skills
- Solid organizational skills, high attention to detail, ability to multi-task and ability to exercise independent judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
