Senior Key Account Manager

Annual salary: $ 131,100.00 - 165,800.00
What you'll do
The Senior Key Account Manager (P4) builds on the duties of a Key Account Manager (P3) to:
- Lead the developer sector to drive projects and communications with BC Hydro groups: Interconnections (Distribution and
Transmission), Integrated Planning and Capital Infrastructure Project Delivery.
- Provide excellent customer service, address customer issues, and deliver on strategic customer opportunities within a
portfolio of our largest and most complex or sensitive key account customers by maintaining operational and senior
management relationships with customer organizations and within BC Hydro
- Initiate, support, or champion the development, delivery, and evaluation of programs and business solutions with internal
BC Hydro groups, which contribute to the long term success and profitability of both our customers and BC Hydro.
- Develop an in-depth and current knowledge of BC Hydro products, programs, services, policies and rate structures and
encourage customer participation in BC Hydro and government electricity related programs and offers
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers by providing strategic energy leadership and supporting their energy planning, and
electrical service needs within BC Hydro
- Engage customers to ensure awareness of and encourage participation in BC Hydro and government electricity-related
programs and offers
- Represent BC Hydro to customers with a knowledgeable, helpful, positive and professional tone
- Prepare and deliver briefing notes and support BC Hydro senior management and executive in customer-related issues,
activities, opportunities or meetings
- Provide leadership and support to the Key Accounts business plan and support to customer-related business
improvement initiatives across BC Hydro
- Develop and direct Key Account plans, and Sector Plans, to identify clear customer objectives and targets based on a
current understanding of BC Hydro and customer business and operational priorities
- Anticipate and track external business trends and government policy or regulatory influences to determine the impact on
customers and develop strategies for BC Hydro to influence and/or manage those externalities.
What you bring
- University degree, or Technical/Business School Diploma or a Professional designation in a Technical discipline. A
combination of relevant experience and education as equivalent will be considered.
- Eight + years in customer related roles, including sales, marketing or relevant utility or business areas
- Working level knowledge of project management, capital projects and program management
- Demonstrated ability to lead negotiations to effective resolution, effectively manage conflict and confidently deal with
customers on sensitive issues
- Working level knowledge of customer-related utility,
interconnections or electrical fundamentals is desirable
- Working level knowledge of building systems (HVAC, Building Envelope, Plumbing, Heat exchange systems) is desirable
- Strong customer service, marketing and sales ability is desirable
- Excellent writing, verbal and presentation skills, at technical and senior management and executive level
- Demonstrated organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-disciplinary teams
- A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing

What else you should know
- At this time, the successful candidate is anticipated to hold a portfolio of Commercial Development sector accounts
focused on new and complex distribution service connections.
- Key Account customers and portfolios are assigned to Key Account Managers and may be changed from time to time
- Key Account Managers are required to travel to and visit customer sites to understand their business and operational
needs
- Key Account Managers are required to support their customer after hours as necessary to support unplanned outages or
other urgent operational issues
- A condition of employment for this job is that you maintain a valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing
