Candidates with recent Emergency Department and/or Medical-Surgical experience are strongly preferred.

As a Travel LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care within hospitals, rural health centres, emergency departments, acute care units, and other healthcare environments. Working collaboratively with physicians, Registered Nurses, and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to the delivery of safe, compassionate, and evidence-based care.

This role requires nurses who are comfortable working independently, adapting to new clinical settings, and practicing at their full scope in dynamic healthcare environments.

Specialty OpportunitiesEmergency Department (ER)





Support emergency healthcare teams by assessing and monitoring patients, assisting with urgent interventions, providing treatments, and responding effectively to rapidly changing patient conditions. CTAS experience is considered a strong asset.

Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg)

Provide care for patients recovering from illness, injury, or surgery through ongoing assessments, medication administration, wound care, patient education, and collaboration with the broader healthcare team.

Rural Acute Care

Rural assignments offer a unique opportunity to develop a broad clinical skill set while caring for diverse patient populations. Nurses in these settings often work across multiple service areas and play a vital role in supporting community healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing care.
- Perform patient assessments and monitor changes in condition.
- Administer medications, treatments, injections, and IV therapies within scope of practice.
- Perform direct IV push medications where permitted and clinically appropriate.
- Assist with procedures, specimen collection, catheterization, and other nursing interventions.
- Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and health management.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using electronic medical record systems.
- Support discharge planning and continuity of care initiatives.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and quality assurance standards.

Required QualificationsRequired

- Active CLPNA (Alberta) and/or CLPNNL (Newfoundland & Labrador)



registration/licensure in good standing, or eligibility to obtain registration prior to assignment start.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience within the last 3 years.
- Recent Emergency Department and/or Medical-Surgical experience.
- Ability to work to the full scope of LPN practice.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel and work in rural and remote communities.

Preferred

- CTAS certification and Emergency Department experience.
- Direct IV push experience.
- IV therapy certification.
- Phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.
- Airway management experience.
- Catheter care experience.
- Experience using electronic health records such as Connect Care, Epic, Cerner, or similar systems.
- Previous rural or remote nursing experience.
