Status

Position Summary

We are seeking an Athletic Trainer to provide direct, on-field medical care for high school student-athletes (grades 10–12). You will be responsible for evaluating and treating game-time injuries as they occur, managing emergency protocols, and overseeing rehabilitation for safe return to play. We are looking for a calm, dependable professional dedicated to keeping athletes safe, supported, and ready to perform across all sports disciplines. Flexible availability for afternoons, evenings and weekends is required.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

- providing immediate, on-field evaluation, first aid, and acute injury management during high school practices and athletic events
- conducting injury assessment and treatment, including developing and implementing rehabilitation programs




- overseeing the school’s concussion management program, post-injury protocols, and return-to-play safety compliance
- maintaining explicit, ongoing communication with parents, coaches, allied health professionals and school staff regarding injury status, treatment plans and recovery timelines
- applying manual therapies, therapeutic exercise, and recovery modalities to guide injured student-athletes safely through rehabilitation
- educating student-athletes and coaching staff on injury prevention, recovery strategies, and athletic safety
- supporting the Sports Medicine 25/35 programming by developing student trainer initiatives to further career pathways in Athletic Therapy, working alongside teaching staff to establish the program's scope and sequence

Education/Qualifications

- a degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or related field
- Certified Athletic Therapist and a member of the Canadian Athletic Therapist Association
- First Aid Instructor certification
- a minimum of one year related experience working with high school aged athletes
- strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Rate of Pay

$38.81 - $49.36 per hour
