Position:

Within the Burlington Group there is a need for a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Designer. In this existing position you will work on a variety of technical and engineering assignments including design, drafting, analysis, and report writing. You will play a key role leading a team of designers and engineers on projects related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment utilized in the Aluminium Smelting industry. Projects will be related to mechanical engineering for heavy automated equipment utilized in the Aluminium Smelting industry.

Your Key Responsibilities :

- Support the design and optimization of systems




- Creation of 2D layouts as a basis for Basic+Detail engineering
- Creation of 2D drawings and schematics using Autodesk AutoCAD or Inventor
- Creation of 3D models using Autodesk Inventor
- Preparation of design calculations
- Create Part Numbers in the PCS and VAULT system
- Support the generation of component specifications and purchasing requests,
- Interface with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly,
- Creation of O&M; manuals, BOMS
- Assist with the creation of project-related documentation and design specifications
- Work with other engineering disciplines (e.g. process, electrical, software) to ensure integrated and well-functioning products and system
- Ensure all designs and manufacturing processes adhere to legal and company safety standards, quality requirements, and industry best practices
- Support sales providing layouts, calculations, bill of quantities, etc.
- Follow established work procedures and instructions as per ISO 9001 standard
- Follow established HSE (Health, Safety and Environmental) regulations.

Requirements:

Qualifications/Who you are:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or diploma eligibility within an accredited program
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in designing custom made equipment for the Primary Aluminum Smelter or similar industries
- Proficient in Autodesk ACAD or Inventor




- Experience working with PDM (preferable Autodesk VAULT) and ERP software
- Reading, understanding and creation of pneumatic/hydraulic schematics
- Knowledge of electrical actuating systems as used in automated equipment
- Preparation of design calculations (“hand”-calculations)
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Strong ability to lead through collaboration and mentor team members
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities
- Strong mathematical skills
- Productive time management
- Robust mechanical/electrical aptitude and knowledge,
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute to continuous improvement processes.
- Willingness to travel internationally
