Shop Hand / Shipping & Receiving Associate

About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Shop Hand / Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our client's team in Sherwood Park, Alberta. This role plays a vital part in supporting warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations while ensuring the secure, accurate, and timely movement of materials, supplies, and customer orders.

The ideal candidate has experience in warehouse operations, holds a valid Forklift Certification, and is committed to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Schedule

- Monday to Friday
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Two paid 15-minute breaks

Key Responsibilities

- Receive, inspect, and process incoming deliveries.
- Prepare, package, label, and ship outgoing orders accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain electronic and manual shipping and receiving documentation.
- Deliver samples to production laboratories throughout the day.
- Assist with the storage, organization, and final disposition of client samples.
- Load, unload, and move materials using a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
- Maintain inventory and organize warehouse supplies.
- Support workplace safety, housekeeping, and ergonomic initiatives.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities, including 5S practices.
- Communicate effectively with customers, warehouse staff, and the local leadership team.




- Perform general warehouse and shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid Forklift Certification (required).
- WHMIS certification or experience working with WHMIS procedures (required).
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or shop operations is preferred.
- Experience handling hazardous materials safely is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining shipping and receiving records.

Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) with assistance when required.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working in a warehouse setting.
- Ability to operate forklifts and material handling equipment safely.
