Originally the Company was founded as a utility pole supplier but quickly it has grown to be the largest provider of specialty wood products including Douglas Fir, Western Red Cedar, Hemlock and Pine timbers in Ontario. The Company’s breadth of items of inventory is what differentiates TransCanada in the market with over 8,000 active SKUs carried in the 20 acre yard. JOB SUMMARY

We are currently seeking motivated General Labourers to join our growing team in Barrie, Ontario.

The ideal candidates will have experience within a lumberyard setting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Yard Supervisor at Trans Canada, the incumbent will be responsible for:

- Performs various physical duties as assigned.
- Maintain all safety standards.
- Moves, secures, installs, builds, loads, or unloads materials.
- Performs some specialized tasks which may require on-the job training.
- Effectively using heavy and light equipment,



depending on the jobsite/assignment.
- Moves items from place to place, according to direction from the supervisor.
- Moving tools, equipment, or other material as directed in plans or by the supervisor.
- Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment.
- Ensure regulated and proper headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses, and clothing are worn.
- Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

- Ability to lift and carry 50+ lbs.
- Able to work safely and adhere to PPE requirements.
- Willingness to learn, grow and develop.
- Strong desire to work as a team.
- Self-starter who is able to work in a rapid-paced, deadline driven and demanding environment with strong attention to detail.
- Strong aptitude for math.
- Effectively manage time and workload and work well in a team environment.
- Monday to Friday - working every other Saturday during peak season.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
