Join Our Team
We are looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Retail Store Associate to join our growing team. This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, preparing quality food products, and contributing to a clean, welcoming retail environment. Every day is different as you'll assist customers, prepare specialty food products, merchandise the store, and help ensure our shelves remain fully stocked.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting customers, answering product questions, and providing knowledgeable recommendations.
- Promote and sell specialty grocery, bakery, and meat products while identifying opportunities to upsell complementary items.
- Assist with baking, food preparation, and kitchen production while following established recipes and food safety procedures.
- Prepare, package, label, and merchandise fresh meat products in accordance with food handling and sanitation standards.
- Receive, pack, and dispatch customer orders for local and online shipments, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
- Stock shelves, rotate inventory (FIFO), replenish merchandise, and maintain attractive product displays.
- Receive inventory shipments and verify product quality and quantities.
- Operate a point-of-sale (POS) system and process customer transactions accurately.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store, kitchen, food preparation areas, and storage spaces.
- Wash dishes, kitchen utensils, equipment, and food preparation tools following sanitation procedures.
- Follow workplace health and safety policies, including food handling, sanitation, and safe lifting practices.




- Support team members with daily store operations and other duties as required.

Qualifications

- Previous experience in retail, grocery, bakery, deli, butcher shop, food service, or customer service is considered an asset.
- Experience preparing food or working in a commercial kitchen is an asset.
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to confidently engage customers, answer questions, and provide product recommendations.
- Fluent spoken and written English communication skills equivalent to Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) Level 9 or higher, required to effectively serve customers, understand food safety procedures, and communicate with team members.
- Passion for providing exceptional customer service.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Comfortable standing for extended periods and safely lifting up to approximately 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Food Safe Certification is considered an asset.
