We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to join our cannabis production facility. This role combines process optimization, technical machinery support, and facility maintenance in a fast-paced, in-person production environment. You'll play a key role in keeping our production line running efficiently while also pitching in on the floor when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and optimize production processes to improve efficiency, throughput, and product quality
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production machinery and equipment
- Support ongoing facility maintenance, including preventive maintenance and repairs
- Assist with general labor duties related to packaging and production as needed
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective, timely solutions
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify process improvement opportunities
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and process changes
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and proper use of PPE at all times
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (required)
- Prior experience as a Mechanical Engineer, ideally in a production or manufacturing setting
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to industrial or production machinery
- Comfortable working directly on the production floor alongside equipment and staff
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Work Environment
- On-site, in-person role requiring physical presence 5 days per week
- Involves regular walking and moving throughout the facility
- Requires lifting and moving materials and supplies
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times per facility safety guidelines
