Our client in the shipping and logistics industry is hiring for an ocean import coordinator.
The coordinator will be responsible for managing and coordinating international ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery. This role ensures timely movement of cargo, accurate documentation, customs compliance, and effective communication with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating ocean import shipments and monitoring cargo movement
- Preparing and reviewing shipping documents, invoices, and arrival notices
- Communicating with steamship lines, terminals, warehouses, and customs brokers
- Tracking shipments and providing status updates to customers
- Arranging delivery appointments and inland transportation
- Ensuring compliance with customs regulations and company procedures
- Resolving shipment delays, discrepancies, and service issues
- Managing billing, file maintenance, and data entry within the freight forwarding system

The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced workplace, and experience in freight forwarding or international logistics.
Knowledge of ocean import procedures, customs processes, and transportation coordination is required.
