ABOUT THE POSITION
We are looking for an experienced, mechanically inclined Pump Mechanic / Rotating Equipment Specialist to join our team. This position is primarily shop-based, where you will diagnose, repair, rebuild, and test a wide variety of pumps and rotating equipment. The role also includes occasional field service work, assisting with installations, removals, start-ups, troubleshooting, and emergency customer support throughout Ontario.
The ideal candidate has strong pump repair experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and enjoys solving complex mechanical problems. We are looking for someone who is dependable, service-oriented, shows initiative, and works well independently as well as part of a team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Diagnose, dismantle, inspect, repair, rebuild,
and reassemble pumps and rotating equipment in the shop
- Perform mechanical evaluations and determine repair requirements
- Conduct precision measurements, inspections, and testing to ensure equipment meets performance specifications
- Assist with pump start-up, testing, troubleshooting, laser alignment, and commissioning during field service assignments
- Remove and install pumps and rotating equipment at customer facilities when required
- Perform rigging and safe handling of heavy rotating equipment
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, manuals, and technical specifications
- Maintain a clean, organized, and protected work environment
- Provide exceptional workmanship and customer service both in the shop and in office
- Work overtime and occasional weekends as required
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of experience repairing industrial pumps and rotating equipment preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude is a must
- Proven experience dismantling, inspecting, rebuilding, and assembling centrifugal pumps and other rotating equipment
- Industrial Millwright (433A) Certificate is an asset
- Experience with laser alignment is an asset
- Experience with vibration analysis is an asset
- Welding and fabrication experience is an asset
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift and handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
