PSPNET Overview

PSPNET is hiring a Research Associate!

PSPNET provides free, confidential, and evidence-based online therapy to Canadian public safety personnel (PSP) as well as their spouses and significant others. Join our diverse team of English- and French-speaking clinicians, researchers, and support staff located across Canada who support the development, implementation, and evaluation of our program.

Potential Responsibilities

a) Research Partnerships:

i. Engage with research participants and stakeholders

ii. Foster collaborative relationships with students, researchers, public safety organizations, and community partners to support research initiatives

iii. Coordinate meetings and communications with research collaborators and stakeholders

b) Research Translation:

i. Prepare and adapt research findings for a variety of audiences

ii. Develop research dissemination materials

iii. Contribute to presentations, reports, publications, and other research activities

iv. Measure outcomes for internal and external purposes

c) Research Mobilization:

i. Support planning and coordination of research dissemination initiatives, including webinars, presentations, and conference activities

ii. Represent PSPNET at conferences, meetings, and community events to share research findings

iii. Assist in coordinating educational and knowledge-sharing opportunities with research collaborators and stakeholders

Assist with recruitment and engagement activities that support research and knowledge mobilization

Position Requirements

Preferred Assets:

a) Public safety experience **

i. Trainee, staff (paid or volunteer), retiree, or family member

ii. Border services, communications, corrections, emergency management, fire, intelligence, paramedics, policing, search and rescue, or similar.

b) Master’s degree in:

i. Psychology, public health, health sciences, social sciences, education

ii. Communications, marketing, digital media, creative technologies

iii. Related disciplines

Note: Bachelors’ degree with 5+ years of relevant experience will be considered.

c) Willing to work in-office at the University of Regina

d) Robust interpersonal skills and ability to work with a team

e) Excellent organizational and time management skills

f) Excellent problem-solving skills and comfort with flexible and evolving responsibilities

g) Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality and confidentiality

h) Strong computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Other Assets

a) Fluent in French

b) Knowledge in:

- Mental health (e.g., anxiety, depression, posttraumatic stress, sleep, occupational stress)




- Public safety personnel (e.g., border services, communications, corrections, emergency management, fire, operational intelligence, paramedics, policing, search and rescue)

c) Experience with Excel

Pay Grade As Per CUPE 5791 Research Salary Range $50,667-89,900 Status Term Work Hours

This position is full-time (40 hours / week) Monday to Friday with the possibility of extension, depending on funding.
