Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in dispensing medications, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth pharmacy operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a clinical setting while contributing to patient care and safety. Prior pharmacy experience is preferred, along with strong communication skills and knowledge of medical terminology. The Pharmacy Assistant plays a vital role in supporting medication administration and patient interactions, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing prescription medications accurately and efficiently
- Manage and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy
- Provide excellent patient care by answering questions and offering guidance
- Verify prescriptions data entry for completeness and correctness in accordance with medical orders
- Maintain inventory levels by stocking shelves, checking expiration dates, and ordering supplies as needed
- Preparing blister and compliacne packs for patients
- Handle administrative tasks such as data entry,
filing, and processing insurance claims
- Ensure the pharmacy environment complies with health and safety regulations
Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience or pharmacy experience is highly desirable
- Paperless Kroll system knowledge is a must.
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and medication administration procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members
- Compassionate approach to patient care and support
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Certification as a pharmacy assistant or related healthcare credential is a plus but not mandatory
