We are on the lookout for a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist, Operations to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be the backbone of our payroll processes, ensuring that employee compensation is accurate, timely, and compliant with all relevant regulations. You'll work closely with human resources and finance teams to streamline payroll operations, manage data entry, and support various accounting functions. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about data accuracy, enjoys working with payroll (WFM) and accounting software, and thrives in a collaborative setting.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using systems like Workday, Kronos WFM to ensure employees (union hourly) are paid correctly and on schedule.
- Perform detailed data entry related to employee hours, wages, deductions, and benefits within HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms.
- Reconcile accounts related to payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy in account balances and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Support bookkeeping activities including accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain financial accuracy.
- Assist with compliance by preparing reports for tax filings, benefits administration, and audit purposes.
- Collaborate with human resources to update employee records and process changes affecting payroll.
- Use accounting software such as QuickBooks or PeopleSoft to generate reports, analyze payroll data, and improve operational efficiency.
Experience
- Prior experience working with payroll systems like Workday, Kronos WFM, is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of HRIS systems and payroll processing procedures.
- Knowledge of account reconciliation techniques and basic bookkeeping principles.
- Experience in handling data entry tasks accurately within fast-paced environments.
- Basic knowledge of human resources functions related to payroll administration is a plus.
- Demonstrated analysis skills to identify discrepancies and recommend process improvements.
