Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced full time Shift Manager to oversee daily operations across our café locations on Robson Street and Denman Street. This salaried position requires strong leadership skills, solid knowledge of café and food service operations, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. The successful candidate will supervise staff, ensure food safety and quality standards, manage service flow, and foster a positive team environment. Previous experience in café or hospitality management, food handling, and customer service is essential.

Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate daily café operations during assigned shifts across both locations to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality service.
- Lead, support, and motivate team members, including assisting with interviewing, onboarding, and training new staff to uphold company standards.
- Oversee beverage and food preparation while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Manage POS systems for accurate cash handling, reporting, and order processing.
- Monitor customer service standards, resolve guest concerns promptly, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed at all times.




- Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and presentation of café service and preparation areas.
- Assist with inventory tracking, ordering supplies, and minimising waste across both locations.
- Enforce company policies related to service standards, safety, and employee conduct.

Requirements

- Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation and food safety standards.
- Experience with POS systems (Micros or similar platforms preferred)
- Excellent customer service skills with a strong focus on guest satisfaction.
- Background in café or restaurant management preferred; barista experience is an asset.
- Ability to handle cash and reporting responsibilities accurately and responsibly.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to perform well in rapid-paced environments.
