Overview
Wheelhouse Brewing Company is looking for a calm, organized, and dependable Kitchen Manager to lead our kitchen team in Prince Rupert, BC.

Our kitchen serves a busy, community-focused brewery and supports private functions, catering, and seasonal events. We are looking for a hands-on leader who maintains high standards while helping the team work efficiently and respectfully.

Responsibilities

- Schedule, supervise, coach, and support kitchen staff, stepping into service when needed.
- Maintain consistent food quality, presentation, portioning, and food-safety standards.
- Maintain our core menu and create weekly pizza specials and seasonal dishes inspired by Prince Rupert and the North Coast.
- Manage inventory and order food, chemicals, and kitchen supplies.
- Monitor food and labour costs, minimize waste, and control unnecessary expenses.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly sanitized kitchen.
- Ensure food is correctly labelled, dated, stored, and rotated.
- Communicate menu changes, shortages, and pricing information to staff.




- Ensure kitchen equipment is properly maintained and report repair needs.
- Work collaboratively with the events team and participate in weekly management meetings.

Skills & Qualifications

- Has professional kitchen and supervisory experience.
- Holds a valid FOODSAFE certificate.
- Understands food safety, inventory management, and food-cost control.
- Is calm, fair, reliable, and organized.
- Communicates clearly and works well under pressure.
- Is willing to work alongside the team, particularly during busy periods.

Job Types: Full time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00-$33.00 per hour
