Responsibilities of the job

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

- Greet and serve guests
- Prepare & serve food and drinks to guests.
- Handle cash and credit transactions.
- Clean bar & table surfaces and empty trash cans as necessary.
- Handle customer interactions in an appropriate manner.
- Follow uniform and grooming specifications.
- Communicate with teammates and management.
- Unpack deliveries and stock supplies as needed
- Become familiar with current menu items and prices
- Have knowledge of food quality standards.
- Place the correct amount of silver, napkins, condiments.
- Clean spills, broken glass and debris promptly after incidents.
- Good working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in order to communicate with guests other team members.
- Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 22 lbs.
- Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to perform these operations using units of Canadian money
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, schedule or recipe form.

- Keep floors dry and clean to avoid slip/fall accidents.
- Performs other duties as requested, such as moving supplies and equipment, cleaning up unexpected spills.

Education

- Any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

- One or more years Food Service experience preferred. Prior restaurant experience preferred.

Certificates

- Food Service Sanitation Certification or equivalent may be required

Grooming

- All team members must maintain a neat, clean, professional and well-groomed appearance

Notes:

- This business functions six days a week, twelve hours a day. Monday – Saturday 10am-7pm
- Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Westfort Coney Island’s rules and regulations for the protected and efficient operation of the restaurant

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
