Job Posting: Job Coach (Youth 15–30 Facing Employment Barriers)

Employment Type: Part Time CONTRACT approx. 6 Months or 350 hours
Salary Range: $18.00 per hour

About Us

Centre for Opportunity (CFO) is a transition program for young adults ages 18-28 with developmental disabilities. CFO is unique as it bridges the gap between school and adulthood by combining group learning with practical skill-building, by preparing participants to navigate adulthood with confidence. The Opportunity

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Job Coach to support youth in overcoming barriers to finding and maintaining employment. This role combines individualized coaching, employer engagement, and advocacy.
You will work alongside youth from diverse backgrounds, experiencing disabilities and/or mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide one-on-one employment coaching tailored to the participant’s goals, strengths, and needs
- Support youth in developing job search skills, including resume writing, interview preparation, and workplace readiness
- Build relationships with employers to identify inclusive job opportunities
- Provide on-the-job coaching and follow-up to support job retention
- Advocate for participant and promote inclusive workplace practices
- Maintain accurate, confidential participant records and progress reports
- Work collaboratively with community partners, support agencies, and internal teams
- Use a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and strengths-based approach

What You Bring

Required Skills & Experience





- Experience working with youth (ages 15–30), especially those facing barriers to employment
- Working knowledge of bicycle mechanics
- Motivated to learn effective job coaching techniques
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries
- A willingness to learn about labour market trends and employment resources
- Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings or weekends

Working Conditions

- Work on-site at the Sunalta Campus and community-based locations
- Travel within the community will be required
