Qualifications:

- Personal Support Worker Diploma; minimum 600 hours in duration; or Nursing Student
- Qualifications in accordance with the FLTC Act and Regulations.
- Previous Experience working in a Retirement or Long Term Care setting preferred;
- Ability to work well with others in a team approach, and adapt to changing situations;
- Physically capable of performing assigned duties within a flexible work schedule inside a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week operation;
- Knowledge of and abilities in transferring, lifting, and other personal care duties;
- Excellent teamwork and team building skills
- Excellent attendance and reliability required

Key Responsibilities:

- Performs all duties with an acceptable standard of skill and with a sense of responsibility - those functions which provide for the basic care of Residents




- Assists in the nursing process by observing and reporting changes in the Residents physical and emotional condition.
- Knows the guidelines of care of his/her assigned Residents as outlined in the Resident care plans. Gives nursing care according to these guidelines.
- Participates in the overall activation process developed by the facility to promote the well-being of each Resident (physical, spiritual, social and emotional).
- Performs personal care and selected nursing measures to promote comfort and safety for the Resident in accordance with the standards of Resident care.
- Assists with the maintenance of records reflecting each Resident's condition, care and specific treatments.
- Maintains effective communication and good human relations with Residents, families and staff of other departments, using the appropriate lines of communication
