Salary Range: $16.90–$20.10 per hour

Position Overview

Ziigwan Inc. is seeking compassionate, reliable, and community‑minded Support Workers to join our team. You will work with young adults aged 18–21 who may experience cognitive or developmental challenges, mental health concerns, or other complex needs. In this role, you will help youth build essential life skills, foster independence, and prepare for a successful transition into adulthood.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate life‑skills development and provide one‑on‑one mentorship
- Support daily living activities and promote independence
- Develop, implement, and document individualized support plans
- Collaborate with healthcare and community professionals
- Provide companionship and emotional support, with sensitivity to the social and economic realities faced by clients and their families
- Assist with meal preparation, uphold dietary standards, and perform light housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean environment
- Engage youth in culturally appropriate programs, activities, and traditions
- Work flexible hours, including extended shifts when required, independently or alongside team members




- Transport clients as needed

Qualifications

- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Minimum 1 yr of experience supporting young adults or working in a related field
- Knowledge of Indigenous cultures, communities, and traditions
- Understanding of addictions and substance‑use issues
- Ability to safely administer medications and follow health protocols
- Willingness to participate in specialized training relevant to client needs
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport with youth
- Experience with Indigenous traditional activities and/or ceremonies
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
