The Health Sciences Association of Saskatchewan (HSAS) is a union representing more than 4,000 health care professionals who work within the Saskatchewan Health Authority, several privately owned EMS services in Saskatchewan, and at Canadian Blood Services in Regina. HSAS is committed to improving the overall wellbeing of members andimproving the quality of public health care in Saskatchewan.
Labour Relations Coordinator (LRC) – Regina
Reporting to the Associate Executive Director – Labour Relations, the LRC is responsible for the provision of a wide range of diverse administrative and support services for the Labour Relations Team. Duties and responsibilities include:
· Provides various administrative and support services to the Associate Executive Director – Labour Relations and the Labour Relations Officers. In addition, provides labour relations related support, as assigned, to the Executive Director, the Executive Council, and other members of the HSAS Management Team.
· Is the first point of contact for labour relations issues. Responds to, or distributes, day-to-day general inquiries and escalates more complex issues to the Labour Relations Officers or the Associate Executive Director – Labour Relations.
· Manages the job posting, job description and classification process.
· Manages the database and filing system for labour relations activities, including grievances and projects. Develops and maintains tools and reports and assembles information to support the Labour Relations Team and services provision.
· Prepares reports and data related to union activity, LR trends, etc.
· Works with the Membership Records Coordinator to resolve member and dues discrepancies.
· Provides collective bargaining support as requested.
· Prepares minutes and provides support at internal Labour Relations meetings and at joint Employer-Union meetings as requested.
· Advocates on behalf of members’ labour relations issues by maintaining current knowledge of the HSAS collective agreements, letters of understanding, the Saskatchewan Employment Act and Regulations.
Please note this permanent full-time position is located in our Regina office.
· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an administrative role within a unionized environment;
· Proficiency with Windows and Microsoft Office Suite;
· Post-secondary education in a related field.
