Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy-duty trucks over long distances, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely delivery of freight across multiple locations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and fluid levels.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues on the road.
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep trucks in optimal condition.
Requirements
- Able to do Cross Border Haul-USA.
- Able to go thru Criminal Record Check
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience in commercial driving, especially long-haul routes/Cross Border
- Fast Card an asset but not necessary.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for heavy cargo.
- Familiarity with basic automotive repair to address minor mechanical issues during trips.
- Strong organizational skills for managing logs, delivery schedules, and compliance paperwork.
- Physical stamina to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road.
