Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Venue Operations, the Building Attendant will be a vital part of the team responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of the Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre venue including event conversions.

Responsibilities

- · Work within established operating procedures for facility maintenance and event conversions.
- · Setup tables, chairs, staging and other related event chattel.
- · Setup and operate audio and video components, including projectors, microphones, etc.
- · Operate vehicles and machinery: forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, Skid steer.
- · Operate Building Management System (BMS).
- · Completes maintenance and facility-related projects as directed.
- · Support full time, part time and contract maintenance staff.
- · Ability to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks.
- · Executes event conversions and building transitions.
- · Assist in the development and safe implementation of SOP’s
- · Handle Shipping & Receiving duties.
- · Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills: highly organized, results oriented with the ability to be flexible, and to work well under pressure, strong level of initiative required.
- · Other related duties including but not limited to:



general caretaking, parking and performing labouring duties.
- Daily boiler checks and documentation

Requirements

- · High school or technical school diploma or combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- · Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required.
- 5th Class Power Engineering certification is required.
- · 2-3 years of experience in a multi-use facility is an asset.
- · Ability to problem solve in high-pressure situations.
- · Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- · Ability to perform physical/manual labor for extended periods of time (including lifting up to 50lbs, repetitive tasks).
- · Ability to work outdoors, including snow removal and landscaping.
- · Demonstrated knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and Email.
- · Must be able to work daytime/evening/ weekends/overnights and holidays.
- · Able to work late hours in an unsupervised environment.

Pay: $24.00 per hour
