**Job Title: Mechanical Installation Technician**
**Job Description**
This role involves assembling and installing multiple conveyor lines and a mezzanine in an industrial facility.
You will work in small teams to complete mechanical installations safely and accurately, using a variety of hand and power tools and working at heights when required.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assemble and install multiple conveyor lines and associated mechanical components according to drawings and specifications.
+ Assist with the installation of a mezzanine structure, ensuring accurate alignment and secure fastening.
+ Work collaboratively in small teams to plan, coordinate, and complete installation tasks safely and on schedule.
+ Use a wide range of hand and power tools to cut, fasten, align, and secure mechanical components.
+ Operate lifts, including scissor lifts, to perform installation work at heights as required.
+ Support material handling and positioning of equipment, including using forklifts where licensed and assigned.
+ Verify measurements, levels, and alignment using tools such as measuring tapes, levels, and squares to ensure precision installation.
+ Follow all construction site safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and adherence to lockout and hazard control practices.
+ Identify and report any hazards, defects, or issues that could affect safety, quality, or project timelines.
+ Maintain tools and equipment in good working order and ensure all required tools are available on site.
+ Assist with adjustments, minor mechanical troubleshooting, and fit-up of conveyor systems and related structures.
+ Support overtime and extended shift work as needed to meet project milestones and deadlines.
**Essential Skills**
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in conveyor installation, construction labour, millwright work, welding, or similar mechanical installation roles.
+ Strong mechanical aptitude with proven experience in mechanical assembly and installation.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with hand and power tools in a heavy-duty or industrial construction environment.
+ Experience working safely at heights, including on platforms and elevated work areas.
+ Ability to read measurements accurately and work with precision to ensure proper alignment and fit.
+ Comfort working on an active construction site and following all site safety rules and procedures.
+ Proven ability to work effectively in small teams and coordinate tasks with other trades and workers.
+ Commitment to safe work practices, including consistent use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety protocols.
+ Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, carrying, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
+ Valid forklift license for at least some team members, with the ability to operate forklifts safely where assigned.
+ Certification or readiness to become certified on scissor lifts (all workers must hold scissor lift certification before starting).
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Experience in conveyors, mechanical assembly, or similar industrial installation work.
+ Experience in heavy-duty or industrial construction environments.
+ Prior exposure to controls or basic understanding of conveyor control systems.
+ Experience operating aerial work platforms (AWP), including boom lifts or scissor lifts.
+ Forklift operation experience and certification, with the ability to support material handling activities.
+ Millwright or welding experience considered an asset.
+ Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing site conditions and project needs.

**Work Environment**
This position is based in an industrial construction environment with typical hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Saturday, with the potential for additional hours and schedule changes as required.
You can expect to work up to approximately 60 hours per week, often on five 12-hour shifts during peak periods.
Work frequently takes place on platforms and elevated areas, including regular use of scissor lifts, and some team members will operate forklifts for material handling.
The role requires consistent use of appropriate personal protective equipment and adherence to all site safety rules.
You must bring your own basic tool kit at a minimum standard, including: socket set (7/16 to 3/4), wrench set (7/16 to 3/4), screwdriver set, hammer, rubber mallet, 6 torpedo level, square, small pry bar, 10 and 12 adjustable wrenches (one of each), imperial measuring tape, Allen key set, and drift.
The work setting is hands-on, physically demanding, and best suited to individuals who are comfortable in a busy, heavy-duty industrial construction environment.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract position based out of Surrey, BC.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
