Bassett Petroleum Distributors Ltd. is currently seeking a motivated and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in Hay River, NT. This is a full-time, permanent position maintaining and repairing our fleet of highway tractors, trailers, tank trucks, and support equipment.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, trailers, and fleet equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and scheduled servicing.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, air brake, and engine systems.
- Complete repairs in accordance with company maintenance standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns as required.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with company policies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification is preferred; experienced apprentices are encouraged to apply.
- Experience working on highway tractors, trailers, and heavy-duty diesel equipment.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (Class 1 or 3 is considered an asset).
- CVIP certification is considered an asset.
- Air brake and hydraulic experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
