Our client, a Canadian industrial contracting company specializing in millwright services, machinery installation, industrial plant relocations, electrical contracting, automation systems, and maintenance support for manufacturing is seeking a skilled Forklift & Truck Mechanic responsible for inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of forklifts, service trucks, and support equipment used in industrial installation and rigging operations.

The successful candidate will ensure fleet reliability, safety compliance, and minimal downtime across multiple job sites.

This role includes both shop-based maintenance and field service support as required.

$35-$40/Hr

Responsibilities

- Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventative maintenance on forklifts, telehandlers, service trucks, trailers, and support equipment
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
- Repair engines, transmissions, braking systems, steering systems, and driveline components
- Troubleshoot hydraulic lifting systems and mast assemblies
- Maintain diesel, propane, and gasoline-powered equipment




- Support inspections of hoisting and rigging-related support equipment where applicable

Requirements*Must have legal work authorization in Canada - Canadahires does NOT offer sponsorship/visa assistance.*

Mandatory Qualifications:

- Experience repairing forklifts and medium-duty trucks
- Robust knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic systems
- Ability to diagnose electrical faults
- Valid driver’s licence (DZ licence considered an asset)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong troubleshooting skills

Preferred (but not mandatory):

- 310T Truck & Coach Technician certification
- 421A Heavy Equipment Technician certification
- Forklift manufacturer training (Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Cat, Skyjack, Genie, JLG, etc.)
- Experience supporting construction or industrial contractor fleets
- Experience with telehandlers and rough-terrain forklifts
- Welding and fabrication experience

Pay: $35.00-$40.00 per hour
