The Opportunity

The Falls Golf Club is seeking an experienced Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and agronomic operations of one of British Columbia's favorite mountain golf courses.

Set against the backdrop of the Fraser Valley, The Falls is known for its dramatic elevation changes and stunning mountain scenery. Managing this property requires more than maintaining great turf—it requires a Superintendent who understands the unique agronomic challenges of mountain golf and takes pride in delivering exceptional playing conditions every day.

Reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the Assistant Superintendent and leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, agronomic planning, budgeting, equipment, irrigation, and team development. We're looking for a Superintendent who leads by example, communicates well, and is committed to building a strong, accountable maintenance team.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact on one of British Columbia's most memorable golf experiences.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and execute the Club's agronomic plan to consistently deliver exceptional playing conditions.
- Lead all aspects of golf course maintenance, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, practice facilities, and surrounding landscapes.
- Oversee maintenance of all non-playing areas, including entrance roads, parking lots, wedding ceremony sites, clubhouse grounds, and landscaped spaces.
- Manage irrigation systems, water resources, drainage, and moisture management practices.
- Recruit, train, mentor, schedule, and lead the maintenance team while fostering a positive, accountable workplace culture.
- Oversee the maintenance, purchasing, inventory, and replacement planning of golf course equipment and materials.

- Prepare and manage annual operating and capital budgets, with responsibility for forecasting, cost control, and long-term planning.
- Maintain accurate records relating to pesticide applications, weather, equipment, inventory, safety, and maintenance operations.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to continually enhance the golfer experience while balancing playability, aesthetics, and long-term turf health.

Qualifications

- Degree or diploma in Turfgrass Management or a related field.
- Minimum five years of experience in golf course maintenance.
- Minimum two years in a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent leadership role.
- Strong understanding of agronomic principles, irrigation systems, equipment management, and golf course maintenance practices.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.
- Strong financial acumen with experience preparing and managing operating and capital budgets.
- Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
- BC Landscape Pesticide Applicator Licence, or the ability to obtain one.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

The successful candidate will play an active role in the planning and execution of future golf course construction and capital improvement projects.

Candidates with experience leading course renovations, irrigation projects, and other golf course construction initiatives are encouraged to apply.
