Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Supervisor/Designate and play a key leadership role in supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre. This position is responsible for mentoring and supporting educators, maintaining high-quality programs, and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for children.

The Supervisor/Designate regularly visits program rooms, provides coaching to staff, monitors program quality, identifies opportunities for continuous improvement, and ensures the centre meets all requirements outlined in the Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) document, as well as compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education licensing requirements, Public Health regulations, and company policies.

The successful candidate must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Educators and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Daycare Supervisor in a licensed childcare centre. Experience working in a licensed childcare centre in Toronto with a Children’s Services fee subsidy agreement is considered a strong asset.

Duties

- Oversee the daily operations of the childcare centre and ensure smooth program delivery.
- Ensure compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Ministry of Education licensing requirements, Toronto Public Health regulations, and company policies.
- Ensure the centre meets the requirements outlined in the Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) document and support continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Regularly visit program rooms to observe practices, monitor program quality, and provide coaching and mentorship to educators.
- Support, supervise, and evaluate educators to promote professional growth and maintain high standards of care.
- Ensure ratios, staffing requirements, and classroom schedules are maintained at all times.
- Support the hiring, onboarding, orientation,



and training of recent employees.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, staff, and community partners, and address parent concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Maintain accurate children's, staff, and licensing records and ensure all required documentation is complete and up to date.
- Monitor health, safety, sanitation, and infection prevention practices throughout the centre.
- Ensure staff follow all centre policies, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Lead enrolment initiatives and work proactively to maintain the centre at full licensed capacity through effective family engagement, timely admissions, and waitlist management.
- Responsible for charging, collecting, and reconciling parent fees, maintaining accurate payment records, and following the centre's fee collection policies and Children’s Services funding requirements.
- Support children with diverse learning and developmental needs by promoting inclusive practices.
- Monitor attendance, staff schedules, and classroom coverage, and assist with staffing adjustments as needed.
- Lead staff meetings and support ongoing professional development initiatives.
- Assist with ministry inspections, Public Health inspections, licensing renewals, and quality assurance visits.
- Report serious occurrences and other required incidents in accordance with Ministry and organizational requirements.
- Order program supplies and ensure classrooms are adequately equipped.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the childcare centre.

Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
