We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Shipper / Mid-Truck Driver to our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, loading, transporting, and delivering products safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate shipping documentation. This role requires excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to customer service. Must have a GZ/DZ License.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, package, and stage orders for shipment.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate equipment.
- Deliver and pick up materials using a mid-sized truck in accordance with scheduled routes.
- Inspect the vehicle before and after each trip and report any maintenance issues.
- Verify shipments against packing slips, invoices, and delivery documents.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and shipping records.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured and transported safely.
- Follow all traffic laws, company policies,
and health and safety regulations.
- Communicate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding deliveries.
- Keep the vehicle clean and in valuable operating condition.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class G or DZ driver's licence (depending on vehicle requirements).
- Clean driver's abstract.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or delivery driving is preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Experience operating forklifts or pallet jacks is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
