We are currently seeking an experienced and safety‑focused Journeyman Shop Technician to join our Burnaby, BC location. This role is a key part of our service operation, supporting equipment reliability, customer satisfaction, and safe branch operations.

Position Overview

As a Journeyman Shop Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on company‑owned and customer equipment in accordance with OEM standards. You will play an important role in ensuring equipment is safe, reliable, and ready for rental while supporting a professional, organized, and safety‑driven shop environment aligned with Liftex and Brunswick Lift Rentals expectations.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) services on aerial lift and material handling equipment
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- Repair equipment in accordance with OEM specifications and company standards
- Identify potential wear, damage, or failure points and recommend corrective action
- Recondition, repair, or replace components as required
- Accurately complete work orders, repair notes, and documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized,



and protected work area in accordance with 5S practices
- Follow and promote all company safety programs, policies, and WorkSafeBC requirements
- Support branch operations and complete additional duties as assigned

Skills & Qualifications

- Journeyman / Red Seal certification as a Heavy Equipment Technician or Automotive Service Technician
- Experience working on aerial lifts, forklifts, telehandlers, or similar industrial equipment
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and technical documentation
- Safety‑focused, detail‑oriented, and quality‑driven mindset
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Solid written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency for work order and service documentation
